Planning a Birthday Party Can Be A Lot of Fun

Planning a Birthday Party Can Be A Lot of Fun

My wife and I have have spent a lot of time planning a birthday party for our son and daughter. It will be a total of 18 all together next month, and my wife and I are become old pros at shopping and preparing for our children’s big day. One thing that I have to day is that planning a birthday party can be a lot of fun.

We’ve spent the last month planning a birthday party for our daughter. She wants, more than anything, a doll house this year. It is quite pricey, and we already told her that we may not be able to afford it, and she has been great about the whole situation. She has already made an alternative list of things she would like to have in addition to the doll house, but keeps hinting around that that is what she really wants. The best part about it is we bought her the doll house, and a few other things she asked for.

While we were so happy that we were able to afford to get her the present she wanted, the preparation for the party has been so much more fun. We keep thinking of cool ideas and buying decorations and snacks and so forth that we know she will love. When it comes to planning a birthday party, my wife and I try to map out every last detail. We have found that doing so allows us to make the best possible party and allows us to trouble-shoot any potential problem.

My son’s last birthday, for instance, was a cowboy-themed party, where we planned out every possible detail. We even hired a man that provided pony rides, and the kids loved it. We also hired a “cowboy” for the show, and he did his own little show. The kids absolutely loved it, and the second-best part of the whole situation for my wife and I was to get to see their reaction. The best part was having my son tell us at the end of the night that it was the best birthday he had ever had!

Our goal is always to make our children as happy as possible with their birthdays, because they are both at that age where birthdays are so special and important. Planning a birthday party is a lot of work, there is no question about it, but it can also be a lot of fun and gives my wife and I something to do together that makes both of us happy. I would actually go so far as to say that planning a birthday party is as much fun as the party itself.
